With the leaves turning late this year but temperature still around mid 60’s, we decided to visit Parshallville Cider Mill for a nice cool cup of apple cider and hot donuts!
First thing that came into view reaching Parshallville is how simple yet elegant the Grist mill looked from the outside. We really liked how the mill stood out!
Arriving early in the morning will get you parking space in front of the mill so try to get there at 9am.
Next to the Grist Mill, you will see where they make fresh apple pie. It was closed when we were there but make sure to check it out when you visit.
Take time to read the history behind how Tom Walker made the Grist Mill in 1869.
The decoration with flowers and old press machine definitely created an enticing atmosphere during the visit.
A Gallon of apple cider is $8 or you can get a Pint for $2.50. Not only did Grist Mill have donuts, they also had homemade pies!
- Dozen of Donuts = $8 / Single = $1
- Whole Pie = $16 / 1 Slice = $4
Apple ciders are all refrigerated so you can have a cold cider on the spot.
Fresh apples to take home so everyone can enjoy the fall atmosphere!
You can ask the friendly lady in the front the type of apple you want to take home.
One of the best part of Grist Mill was the scenery at the back of the mill. There is a stream next to a picnic area which made the perfect place for a nice cup of apple cider and hot donuts!
Great spot – check… Cold apple cider – check… Dozen donuts – check… Hot Coffee for the donuts – check!!
Does this look like dozen donuts? We ordered 6 cinnamon sugar and 6 original… I count 18 donuts! Not only were these donuts delicious, they gave us handful more for the price of dozen! Thank you Grist Mall for an excellent experience!
Freshly just made Cinnamon Sugar Donut.
The insides were very chewy and outside nice and crispy! My favorite type! They were not really big so eating one will make you crave for one more but the quality was excellent.
The original type.
You can see how the difference in color of the outside and inside! Surprisingly, the donuts were not as greasy as we expected so that was a big plus.
The apple pie looked too delicious to pass so we decided to take one for the road.
Before leaving, another shot of the scenery around the Grist Mill.
Definitely a great place to visit if you feel like apple cider and donuts near Fenton. The great scenery and donuts will make you want to come back again every year when you see the leaves changing color.
Definitely F/C approved!
